We are all in the same boat. We are all trying to stay safe, to protect ourselves and the ones we love, and we are all sharing our techniques, tips and strategies for staying positive in this challenging time. COVID-19 RESOURCES - Letter regarding re-opening
The Riverdale Jewish Community Partnership has issued a letter outlining considerations for re-opening institutions and commercial establishments in our area. You can read the letter HERE. 

Kosher Food Resources - Kosher Grab-and-Go Meals in Riverdale New York City will open the first kosher grab & go meal site in the Bronx at P.S. 24 Spuyten Duyvil (660 West 236 Street, Bronx, NY 10463) on Monday, May 11. Starting Monday, three free kosher grab & go meals will be available daily for anyone in need.


Meals are available for children and adults:
  • Monday through Friday
  • Serving children and families from 7:30 am to 11:30 am and adults from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
  • No one will be turned away at any time
  • All adults and children can pick up multiple meals at once
  • No registration, ID, or documentation required
Congregational and Community Support Resources
Volunteers are needed to shop or do small errands for at-risk members. If you need help, or if you can offer help, please email:

• NY State Mental/Emotional Health Resources: The Governor has opened a Emotional Support Hotline: 1-844-863-9314, more general information and coping resources can be found at:

Domestic abuse (physical, sexual, financial, verbal and emotional) impacts community members every day. Living under quarantine with an abuser is that much more unbearable. Please look out for friends and for yourself. The Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (JCADA) hotline at 877-88-JCADA and Shalom Task Force hotline at 888-883-2323 are open. Rabbi Hain is available at any hour.

Coronavirus Relief Fund: Individuals and families in the Riverdale Jewish community and the SAR community are already feeling the economic impact of the health crisis. We want you to know that the community is here for you and will assist you with the financial fallout of Covid-19. We are pleased to report that a Relief Fund has been established under the auspices of the SAR David Cooper Chesed Fund. All members of the Riverdale Jewish community or the SAR school community are eligible. This fund is dedicated to those impacted by the current crisis.
